Hostels In Rome

Rome is one of the most touristed cities in Europe, so naturally it is home to a ton of hostels. During my visit I decided to try something different.

In my search for a cheap hostel I came upon a place called Plus Camping Roma for 10 € per night. It is a camping village about 15 minutes outside the city centre by shuttle. They have house tents and little cabins that you can rent. I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a great experience. I decided to go the route of the house tent because it was cheapest. They basically have 2 beds with a little space between them. It gets a little warm but that's when you just lay back and relax. If it gets too hot you can always walk over to their pool. Each house tent comes with a padlock so you can secure your belongings while you out exploring the city. The bathrooms are only a few seconds away from the house tents and are always clean.

They have a shuttle bus you can take to Vatican City. However, it is much cheaper (only 1 €) to get there by taking the metro and one bus. You can expect to be in the city in about a half hour. They have a ton of stuff to do. They have a restaurant, bar with parties at night, information center, sand volleyball, and even a small grocery store all on the premises. There is also a big grocery store across the street where you can buy things much cheaper. The hostel has a very laid back atmosphere with many trees and greenery. The atmosphere is very social and it is easy to meet other travelers from all over the world. Overall I would recommend Plus Camping Roma to anybody looking to get a different experience while saving a bunch of money.  Plus Camping Roma and other hostels can be booked through our booking engine (powered by Hostelworld.com and goes towards supporting our site)

If you have stayed in a hostel in Rome and had a great experience, please help other travelers by telling about your experience on the Forum.
