About Us
My name is Adam Coelho and I am a sophomore at the University Of Florida. I have always been big into traveling and seeing the world. In Summer 2007 I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain. I spent almost three months studying Spanish and Business in Madrid. During my free time I was able to travel to many cities in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. I traveled the way any student would, as economically as possible. It was a ton of fun but finding a good place to stay or a cheap way to travel from city to city wasn’t always a walk in the park.
The idea for The Europe Student Guide grew out of my love for travel and my experience studying abroad. I thought about how many people I meet that want to study abroad or travel in Europe. They always have tons of questions about what to expect and where to get the cheapest flights, hostels, etc. Since I once had all the same questions, I felt that I could do something to help people prepare for and enhance their experience. The site is created to be a simple and easy way to get a realistic and personal view of what you can expect to find in Europe However, part of the fun of traveling is being able to learn for yourself. This site is meant to be a guide to help you decide what you might want to see and do. I recommend only things that I personally experienced or heard about from close friends. So for example, if I went to a museum that I thought was amazing I will tell readers that I thought it was amazing. If I thought it was a waste of time, I will tell readers that it is not for everybody. The forum is a great way for travelers to meet and share travel experiences.
What makes ESG different from other travel sites?
The Europe Student Guide is created with the goal of helping students get a realistic and personal view of some of the things Europe has to offer. Many travel sites are created to sell you plane tickets or hotel rooms, so they provide information that goes along with what they are selling. The Europe Student Guide is entirely supported by advertising (mainly google). The way we pay for our expenses is by our users clicking and visiting the sponsors. Being supported by advertising allows us to give you information without worrying about airlines, hotels and other externalities. We can just tell you things like they are, based on our personal experience. The Europe Student Guide is completely FREE for the readers and created solely to inform and allow travelers to create connections through our forum.
Thanks for visiting The Europe Student Guide! I hope you enjoy the site and invite friends to check it out when thinking about going to Europe. You can stay up-to-date with what's new on ESG by joining our Facebook Group by clicking here or at the bottom of every page.
